Addinsight, world-leading traffic app, was named the winner of the Innovation and Commercialisation category in the South Australian Spatial Excellence Awards (SASEA).
The awards were announced at Spatial Information Day South Australia, which brought together the best in the industry to learn the latest applications, theories and techniques being applied in surveying, remote sensing and geographic information systems.
Addinsight includes a growing network of over 400 Bluetooth receivers and continuously monitors over 750 km of major road, including South Australia’s freeways.
The traffic monitoring incident detection system has proved an invaluable tool for the department in managing Adelaide’s road network, with interest now peaking from other road jurisdictions nationally and abroad.
Addinsight has already had some success with both city and state jurisdictions in Australia and is currently trialling the system internationally, with expected commercial agreements within the next year.
Presented by the Spatial Industries Business Association SA and supported by the Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute SA, SASEA winners are now eligible for nomination for the national Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards (APSEA) in 2017.
Congratulations to the Addinsight project team for the successful nomination!
